1.1 million more women are in work today than five years ago, with women aged 25 to 64 years the main drivers of increases in employment over the past five years, according to data released by the Office for National Statistics.

Five years ago nearly three-quarters of women worked part-time, the figure today is just over two-thirds, while the number of women in self-employment has risen by 12%.

Greater employment and household income levels can boost affordability, positively influencing demand for homes.

More women in the workforce impacts on the way we manage home and work life. In our homes it can drive requirements for more working from home space and facilities. For those with families, it raises the question of accessible childcare settings. All factors which affect our choice of housing and location.
