Property market in Stockport
Prices up, prices down, prices stable… the newspapers are full of good news, bad news and indifferent news about the Brit’s favourite subject after the weather, the price of property! What is happening with within the local area at the moment is always a source of a good conversation and one that keeps us busy most days of the week.
What about Stockport? The last few months’ data from the land registry has shown a small decrease in property value. In fact, most sellers are buyers anyway so if you need to take less for yours, you won’t have to pay as much for the one you want to buy in theory…
It is always good to see where values have come from, monthly fluctuations are not anything major to worry about and in the long term property will always increase in value. We have mass shortage of affordable property within the UK and currently there is no ability to build enough properties to meet the demand, therefore any drop in value will only be short lived.
If we look at the property values within the Stockport over the last 20 years we have seen an increase of around 289%, since 2006 we have small seen a rise of about 16.5%.
