Confidence Remains High In Manchester Property Market

TomS - Head Tom Simper Mar 25, 2019, 08:22 AM
Even in uncertain times, the Manchester property market is thriving and there is considerable confidence in the local area.

You can forgive people for looking for any sign of positivity in the property market. With Brexit-focused headlines predicting doom and gloom concerning house transactions, you could think that there is nothing positive to enjoy about the market.

However, a recent study which focused on listing enquiries, property completions and confidence levels from buyers and sellers found that there was a 112% growth in the year-on-year property completions during January of 2019. Reports suggest vendors in the largest cities in the UK have a high level of confidence about the future of the market.

NetAnAgent undertook the study and Alex Thorpe, who is a Chief Executive of the organisation, said; “As ever, when looking at consumer confidence, there are always many elements to take into account. While some potential vendors are more likely to request a valuation via online channels, due to time restraints or just being more online savvy, the figures seem to show that homeowners wanting to sell have had enough of the waiting game.”

It is easy to see why Manchester vendors believe they can sell their home

While Manchester ranked 10th in the overall rankings, there are plenty of reasons to think that the city will be at the forefront of the UK property market. There have been record levels of construction for residential property while the business sector has cited growth in the development of office space. With Manchester tipped to be one of the fastest growing economies in the country, it is clear that a lot is going on in the city.

While the political situation in the United Kingdom has raised issues concerning the property market, there is confidence in many of the big cities. While there is tremendous uncertainty over what will happen next with London, the north of the country and the Midlands have provided hope and positive results.

Life continues, and people are making property moves

Uncertainty is a negative influence in the property market but life rolls on, and people are still making moves. Mr Thorpe said; “Regardless of the outcome of the protracted Brexit process, and with the possibility of an extension of Article 50 it appears, that UK sellers are ready to make their move and have been flocking to our site to get the ball rolling.”

There is going to be uncertainty over Brexit for a long time, no matter what happens on the 29th of March (and beyond), and some people said enough is enough.
