About Liverpool

Built on sea-trade, the nautical influence on the city is still evident today, particularly down in Albert Docks, where several of Liverpool’s best-loved attractions can be found. Music is another key factor in the city’s history, and in addition to The Beatles, several other huge musical acts were born and bred here. Music fans will be pleased to know that this melodious atmosphere continues today in Liverpool’s many excellent live venues, nightclubs and bars.

In recent years, the city’s centre has been transformed beyond recognition, turning it into one of the country’s premier shopping destinations. If all this wasn’t enough, it’s also got a wealth of fantastic properties, and you’ll find many on the market at a pleasingly affordable price.

Liverpool Properties

As you might expect in the UK’s fifth largest city, there’s plenty of choice in Liverpool in terms of architectural styles.

Developers have been quick to notice the city’s growing popularity, and as such, there are numerous new-build apartments and houses available; from grand penthouses overlooking the Mersey to cosy family accommodation close to the heart of the city.

The grand Edwardian townhouses offer plenty of living space (plus larger than average gardens), or for a similar price, buyers can find generous semi-detached properties a little further from the city centre, or sizeable detached houses with driveways. There are also plenty of beautiful terraced homes (particularly Victorian or Edwardian), with many retaining their original features.

For those looking for a smaller home, you’ll find some contemporary one-bedroomed or studio apartments on the market, with many situated conveniently close to the city centre or a train station.

Amenities and Things to Do

Liverpool has literally everything you need; from fantastic schools to gyms and leisure centres. If you like shopping, Liverpool ONE is likely to be of interest; with its 170 stores, restaurants and bars to browse. If you prefer boutique brands, then we recommend heading to the Cavern Quarter instead, where you’ll find a host of independent designers and a Vivienne Westwood store.

If you’re looking to move near a great school, The Blue Coat School, Belvedere Academy and Liverpool College always get consistently good GCSE results, or for younger children, the Emmaus C of E and Catholic Primary School performs excellently at SATs level.

As for transport – it’s easy to get around in Liverpool. Trains from Liverpool Lime Street take travellers all over the country, to cities like London, Newcastle, Sheffield, Manchester, Nottingham and Birmingham.

When you live in Liverpool, you’ll never experience a dull moment. Down in Albert Dock, you’ll find the Museum of Liverpool, Merseyside Maritime Museum and Liverpool Tate Gallery, and they’re all within a few minutes’ walk of one another.

Head into the city itself, and you’ll find even more cultural treasures, including the much-loved Walker Art Gallery, the World Museum and the Central Library. And of course, a visit to the rebuilt Cavern or the Beatles Experience is a must-do when you first move into the area.

In addition to the cultural scene, there are plenty of other activities to keep you amused. Football fans will appreciate the proximity to Anfield Stadium, and there are literally hundreds of other venues to keep you entertained; from the Liverpool Clip n Climb Centre to the Laughterhouse Comedy Club.

All of this is on your doorstep when you move into Liverpool, not to mention some of the UK’s best restaurants, pubs and cafes, making it the perfect place to enjoy some quality time with friends or family.

Schools in Liverpool

There are plenty of schools in Liverpool to choose from, including St Cuthberts Catholic Primary and Nursery School that has an Ofsted report of Good, and ‘above average’ scores in Maths, Writing and Reading. St Silas Church of England Primary School has an Outstanding Ofsted Report, again with ‘above average’ scores in all three subjects. 

The Blue Coat School has an Outstanding Report from Ofsted with 99% of students achieving a Grade 5 or above in their Maths and English GCSE and 99% of students staying in education or entering employment after they’ve completed their GCSE’s. Another school with an Outstanding report from Ofsted is King David High School, with 79% achieving Grade 5 or above in their Maths and English GCSE and 98% staying in education or entering employment.
