There may not be a train line to the North Pole yet, but with the country returning to pre-Coronavirus normality, people commuting via public transport is on the rise again.

A shorter commute is important in a property for close to two-thirds of renters and more than a quarter state they will rent for longer if there is easy access to public transport.

This year there were 24 stations in Great Britain with more than 10 million passenger entries and exits. Two years ago there were 43.

The UK Government estimate that taking a train instead of a car for medium-length distances would cut your carbon footprint by 80%. Source: Dataloft, Property Academy Renter Survey 2022, HomeLet Renter Survey 2022, ORR, 2022, Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
