Growth in homes for sale boosts buyer choice

There are a fifth (20%) more homes available for sale compared to the same time last year, boosting buyer choice.

Encouraged by the usual spring bounce and a 9% annual increase in property sales, more people are putting their home on the market.

61% of agents reported an increase in supply in the sales market over the last three months, while 23% reported similar levels.

Despite rising confidence, buyers remain price conscious and continue to negotiate on price. Two-fifths of sales agreed in March were at least 5% below the asking price. Source: #Dataloft Poll of Subscribers, Zoopla, March 2024
