Migration season for students

During university, 29% of students live in the private rental sector and following graduation, 47% plan to live in the private rental sector.
With nearly 1.9 million students attending university full time in the UK, a potential 551,000 students will move into a private rental home in the next few weeks. Nearly 647,000 full time students graduate each year and therefore 304,000 graduates may move into a private rental home.
In the UK, students in the private rental sector spend an average £568 on their share of rent a month, a total household rent of £1,468.
Covid-19 will affect some decisions but 59% of students already at university secure their accommodation for the next academic year by the end of March and 27% get sorted before January. Source: Dataloft, Knight Frank, HESA
