Last Monday (12th April) marked the opening of outside dining and drinking in England, with the potential to create a European-style café culture.

With only 38% of hospitality venues across Britain having access to outside space, many have had to apply for a pavement license.

According to 10 councils in the largest metropolitan areas in England, a total of 840 pavement licensing applications have been approved.
