Pendulum swings to new-build

Gill - Head Gillian Bell Nov 14, 2024, 12:00 PM

With rising energy costs a concern, 53% of home movers would consider buying a brand new home, up from 47% last year.

This is consistent across all age groups showing new-builds appeal to everyone, not just for first-time buyers or those who don’t like maintenance.

The top reasons people would consider a new build home were more energy efficient (70%), less maintenance (65%) and no need to refurbish (64%).

On the other side of the fence, the main concerns were build quality (61%) followed by room size (47%). Source: Dataloft by PriceHubble, Property Academy Home Movers Survey 2024.
