For those who don’t want to travel to Manchester’s city centre, there’s everything you need on your doorstep in Levenshulme. The new library is popular with residents, and there are also several pleasant green parks, which provide the ideal spot to relax on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

The schools are also performing well, with several being rated as ‘good’ or above on their Ofsted reports. This is naturally excellent news for parents thinking of moving to the area, as is the fact that Arcadia Leisure Centre is also close by, with its good-sized swimming pool, gym and sauna.

If you do fancy a trip into Manchester city centre, then Levenshulme’s train station takes between six to nine minutes to get there, or alternatively, you can head southwards to Stockport, Crewe or Buxton. Blackpool is also within easy reach, which is ideal for a day-trip to the beach.

Things to Do in Levenshulme

Touted as Manchester’s latest foodie haven, you’ll find plenty of fantastic restaurants and cafes in Levenshulme. Weekend brunch at Trove is something of a local institution, or alternatively you could head to The Bluebell (one of the area’s oldest pubs) and enjoy a Sunday roast.

Levenshulme Market, which started life as a social enterprise, is a great place to pick up some locally made artisan foods, and the monthly night market has a fantastic ambiance for everyone to enjoy. There’s also talk of a new foodie market coming to the area – watch this space!

The arts are well represented with some prestigious galleries such as Bankley Studios and STOCK, and The Klondyke Club is a great place to enjoy local bands, DJs and other live events. And of course, if you’re looking for some serious retail therapy or a big night out, Manchester’s bustling nightlife is just a short cycle or drive away.
